       A day of fun and joy: Sector-21 Picnic

   AASRA primarily aims at educating the children of underprivileged localities. Besides, it also provides the kids many opportunities to smile. Annual picnic is such a day of fun and laughter with the kids.
   
   Like every year this year too, we organised the annual picnic of Sector 21 on 14th of March at D'Souza school ground. The enthusiastic children and the members reached the spot by 9 o'clock in the morning. All the arrangements were made properly a day before.

       Members spent some quality time with the children playing cricket, badminton,ludo etc as the day rolled on. Then it was the time for lunch, probably the best part of the gathering. All the children thoroughly enjoyed the delicious dishes. After the lunch, some funny chitchat made the festivities even more amusing. At last, some memorable photos were captured and kids were sent back to the workplace safely, bringing curtains down on a truly amazing and memorable day.

  Each and every event that we celebrate at AASRA brings precious smile on the face of both the kids and the members. AASRA is all about spreading happiness. May many more of such wonderful days grace our family.

A Family, Together Forever As cliched as it sounds, I am still honestly relieved that we are done with 2020 now. Yes, I know it’s just a change in a single digit, and globally the situation remains roughly the same but still. It’s only two months into 2021, and India, especially, seems to be in a much better place in terms of the pandemic. AASRA isn’t to be left behind then. We have had the integration of new inductees and foundation day celebration to begin the year with. Hopefully, we will have much more to come. All optimism around the new year aside, 2020 was definitely a hard year for us. For a club that works locally, this situation presented unprecedented challenges. But it’s not in AASRA’s culture to give up and we continued offering our services wherever possible. Lighting Lives, Making a Difference: Diya Project 2k17

New clothes, sweets, crackers. Diwali is a time of joy and celebration. But there are many who aren't fortunate enough. For the poor, buying things during festivals can be nothing but a far fetched dream. We at AASRA believe that there's no greater joy than the joy of serving the poor and the less fortunate ones. Each year, we create employment opportunities for dozens of poor women during Diwali, so that they have enough money to celebrate the festival of lights with their families. DIYA PROJECT is our greatest and most awaited project every year, for which every volunteer of AASRA puts in a lot of effort (and love). We buy diyas from a wholesale seller, and buy decorative items such as glitter powder, paints etc. We go to three workplaces and ask the women there to decorate these Diyas for us.
